Voluntary Blood Donation Day - The 50th Edition, 2024

On the morning of March 13, 2024, the Youth Union – Student Association of Lac Hong University (LHU), in coordination with the Dong Nai Red Cross Society and the Cho Ray Hospital Blood Transfusion Center (HCMC), organized the 50th Voluntary Blood Donation Day 2024 at Campus 3 of Lac Hong University. The event was sponsored by C.P. Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company.

More than 600 people, including lecturers, staff, and students, registered to donate blood during this drive. The Cho Ray Hospital Blood Transfusion Center successfully collected 400 units of blood.

This voluntary blood donation activity was part of a series of events celebrating the 93rd anniversary of the establishment of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, marking 93 years of glorious history for the Youth Union and the Vietnamese youth.

This meaningful activity helps educate the university's Youth Union members, youth, and students on noble gestures, encouraging them to live for society and the community. It contributes to creating a vital blood source, helping hospitals promptly treat and save patients, bringing joy and happiness to the sick and their families.

    Post-event review and continuous improvement

Following the successful completion of the 50th Voluntary Blood Donation Day on March 13, 2024, a formal post-event review meeting was conducted on March 20, 2024, involving representatives from the LHU Youth Union, the Dong Nai Red Cross, and the Cho Ray Hospital Blood Transfusion Center.

The review focused on performance against targets (400 units collected out of 600 registrants) and logistical efficiency. Key findings highlighted the strong public communication but identified a need to streamline the screening process to reduce waiting times by 15% in future events.

Recommendations for the next cycle include implementing a pre-registration time slot system and providing refresher training for student volunteers on donor support, ensuring continuous improvement in our partnership's impact toward SDG 3.
