Study at LHU, work in Japan: Global integration is no longer a distant concept

In today’s strategy for developing high-quality human resources, foreign language proficiency and adaptability to international environments are no longer optional advantages, but have become essential requirements. This raises an important question for higher education institutions: how they can prepare students to work effectively in a global environment, rather than simply focusing on theoretical knowledge.

Three students from the Japanese Studies program at LHU have secured a one-year paid internship in Japan, clearly reflecting this direction. The students - Ngo Thi Nhu Huynh, Vu Thi Hong Loan, and Luong Hoang Thanh Thuy (class 22DN112) will undertake their internships at Yamirikan Co., Ltd./Yarimikan Hotel and Nakaodaira Co., Ltd./Onsen Nakaodaira, with their departure expected in April 2026.

Notably, according to information from the program, after covering living expenses, each student can save nearly VND 20 million per month. Beyond the financial aspect, this figure highlights the practical value of a training model that emphasizes language proficiency, professional skills, and adaptability in an international environment. When students can both gain real-world experience in Japanese companies and maintain financial independence through their own capabilities, the idea of “global integration” is no longer theoretical - it becomes a vivid and meaningful life experience.

International internships – The transition from study to career

A paid internship in Japan is not only a cultural experience but also an opportunity to work in a corporate environment with high standards in discipline, service quality, and professional conduct. Students are required to apply their Japanese language skills, cross-cultural communication abilities, and sense of responsibility in every task.

A dynamic learning environment where theory and practice go hand in hand

Within this environment, knowledge is tested through real work performance. Skills are honed under real-world pressure, while personal resilience is developed through adaptation and experience. For Japanese Studies students, this internship serves as an important stepping stone to strengthen language proficiency, gain international work experience, and expand career opportunities after graduation.

Education aligned with the international labor market

In recent years, LHU has oriented its training programs toward practical application and stronger industry connections. The Japanese Studies program focuses not only on language instruction but also on professional skills, Japanese-style working discipline, and the ability to adapt in multicultural environments.

Providing students with opportunities to engage with Japanese companies while they are still in university reflects a shift in educational philosophy - from “learning to know” to “learning to do”.

Students gaining hands-on experience directly at companies

As Japanese companies continue to expand their investments in Vietnam, particularly in the southern region, the demand for professionals who are fluent in Japanese and familiar with Japanese corporate culture is steadily increasing. International internship programs like this serve as a bridge that helps students shorten the distance between the classroom and the labor market.

Choosing a major in the era of global integration

In fact, international opportunities do not simply appear after graduation. They are built from the moment students choose their field of study and learning environment. The story of these three Japanese Studies students is not only a personal achievement - it also reflects LHU’s educational approach toward global integration, where students step into international environments with real capabilities.

Learning alongside Japanese lecturers – an ideal environment to enhance language skills and develop a global mindset

Amid the rapid transformation in higher education, choosing a program with an international orientation, strong industry connections, and opportunities for global experience plays a vital role in building long-term competitive advantages.

Global integration is no longer just a slogan. It begins with the decision to choose the right major, the right university - and with serious preparation throughout the university journey.
