TTC Korean Language Training Center Awards Scholarships to Students.

Every year, Lac Hong University warmly welcomes a new generation of freshmen. To foster interaction and connection between the University and students, as well as to recognize and commend the positive contributions of specialized clubs and students’ efforts, on the morning of October 1, Lac Hong University in general and the Faculty of Business Administration – International Economics (FAIE) in particular organized the Freshman Welcome Ceremony for the 2022 cohort.

Following the main program, the Faculty also organized a “Market Place” – a food fair combined with interactive games for freshmen. The event attracted enthusiastic participation from senior students as well, creating a vibrant atmosphere. The ceremony was held in a formal yet warm setting, energized by the enthusiasm of the freshmen, signaling a promising and dynamic new academic year.

Students receiving scholarships from Mr. Kim Kyung Sig

At the Freshman Welcome Ceremony, Mr. Kim Kyung Sig – Director of TTC Korean Language Training Center – awarded scholarships worth VND 6,000,000 to students with outstanding academic achievements who are facing financial difficulties. This meaningful gift reflects Mr. Kim’s sincere care for the younger generation, aiming to help reduce their families’ financial burdens. It also serves as a strong source of encouragement for students to continue striving for excellence, expanding their knowledge, and contributing to the development and protection of Vietnam. Although the scholarship amount may not cover all expenses, it provides significant support for students who work part-time to pay tuition and living costs.

He expressed great happiness in being able to provide opportunities for students

Mr. Kim Kyung Sig, an entrepreneur who has lived and worked in Vietnam for many years, maintains a deep passion for education despite his business success. He aims to equip students with solid knowledge and stable career prospects after graduation, opening opportunities to work for Korean companies abroad or Korean enterprises operating in Vietnam. He currently serves as Director of TTC Korean Language Training Center.

For students pursuing Tourism and Travel Management, soft skills—especially foreign language proficiency—are essential. While English is increasingly saturated and Chinese and Japanese are also widely studied, even a basic level of Korean can create valuable job opportunities with Korean partners or companies. Proficiency in Korean offers a significant advantage in job interviews with Korean enterprises or roles requiring Korean interpretation. Students can also build careers through Korean language skills in positions such as interpreter, translator, or especially Korean-speaking tour guide.

Currently, in addition to English, the Tourism and Travel Management program at Lac Hong University offers an additional foreign language, with Korean being a highly preferred choice among students.

Recognizing the importance of learning Korean, FAIE has partnered with TTC Korean Language Training Center. At the center, experienced native Korean instructors teach from beginner to advanced levels. Tuition fee waivers are available for disadvantaged students, and job placement support is provided after graduation.

On behalf of the Faculty’s students, the Tourism and Travel Management Club sincerely thanks Lac Hong University in general and FAIE in particular for providing opportunities to connect with leaders and enterprises, expand practical knowledge, bridge the gap between theory and practice, and better understand the growing importance of Korean language skills in recruitment and professional work.

A new journey has officially begun. Wishing the Class of 2022 an inspiring academic year, a smooth transition into their new environment, and a successful journey filled with valuable experiences.
